A Promise Best Left Unkept - Aya Edition

A Promise Best Left Unkept is not the Dark Souls of NTR games, but it is the Dark Souls 2 of the NTR video games. That is to say, all around inferior to its masterpiece era defining predecessor, though decent at least, its not bad I guess. Inferior to original APBLU, especially unless you are an Aya fan, but not bad. The game is rather long for my taste, kinda overshooting the sweetspot of original APBLU. On top of that it is a sequel, so it has somewhat hard time justifying the lenght since all the set up has been done already. The setting up of Harry’s and Aya relationship feels rather heavy in word count, it would probably work better in a fresh story. The best part about their relationship is how much and deeply Aya seemed to love Harry. And while I am not advocating for a good end, the endings somewhat undermine this best part since I am not too sure any of them executes the NTR of such a relationship in a satisfying way in this particular aspect. They are rather satisfying in many other aspects thought, I guess. Aya is such a familiar character at this point that she is just not as exciting anymore, she lacks novelty. She has been here for years, since the day I discovered HSelf. She has totally burned up any and all novelty, which is a key part of porn excitement. The early part of her game was a bit of a slog to go trough, and the really good stuff is heavily weighted towards the end. I have said it before, it is kinda the reverse of original APBLU where the start and mid were great but the endings were a bit weaker, in the Aya edition endings and lead up to them are the best segments of the game. The warehouse segment is some of the most stunning HSelf writing out there, even if it kinda relies on spectacle and turning to story towards a mafia drama rather than an NTR story. The story does not have enough Laura. She is there a right amount at the start, and she has a nice position in the best ending, but there is a Laura sized hole in the middle part of the game. I am not saying she should have been around in a similar way as Maya, but a middle story appearance the size of one Maya event would have been enough. Aya does so much raiding on the coatails and occupies so much screen time in the original game, but we can’t have even close to that for Laura?! There could have also been one more short ending for Laura. Laura savior ending, where she finally gets the better of Aya, perhaps killing her and saving Harry from Aya’s clutches. The True End! The Bayas of HSelf is very unfortunate for us Laura fans. The way Aya is treated compared to how HSelf treated Laura is just so wrong. Just because Laura is a better character with a better game it seems HSelf can’t allow her to really beat Aya at any fucking point. There are 16 endings and none of them have this. Remember, I can look past by own biases, Aya is A-tier in my HSelf character list. Such a shame. Two twisted mafia/yakuza fuck characters and it still feels Laura had at times better chemistry. Not only with Luca, but Harry as well. Do Aya and Harry have chemistry? It kinda feels like a major theme of the game is that real Aya and real Harry have no chemistry and are not a good fit, but still somehow desperately in love with each other. Aya as a character does not do too well as a NTR heroine. She is a good character and entertaining, but in terms of NTR it was always a struggle as HSelf complained many times. You pretty much get her turning into a more sadistic monster than any other character is capable of in all of Hangoverse, and its just shades of that across all endings, in a somewhat one trick pony way. She had one top tier ending, and in that she needed Laura’s help getting there. We\'re here to say goodbye to our best NTR heroine… not a waifu, not a whore, but the best NTR heroine. Who led the way trough so many varied endings so that Aya might get some route time as well. Who did the hard work of getting HSelf the following he needed to become a fulltime VN dev cat, and who suffered the difficulties of his early years improvements so that those games that came after could have better quality. She was the shield that guarded the realms of HCP, and and we shall never see her like again. Farewell Laura, you will be missed so much. APBLU has been a great journey and an adventure. It has spanned all the years I have known HSelf, and for me it elevated my understanding on another level of what NTR game can be. It must end, I know we are all looking forward to new stories and characters to stand on top of the shoulders of this giant, but it is somber to see it it end. It is and end of an era. This came out for me on the 26th monday, in the game with the ending selection where the new ending starts it also a special date, specifically 26th monday, coincidence? I don\'t think so! I think this ending adds a lot to the APBLU title in adding a bit more kinks- gangbangs, multi characters/girls degeneracy, and adding a bit more on the side characters in tthe office including one of the more important side characters- maya, who almost got her own route... So it is a nice way to end it with expanding what apblu has to offer even when thinking of the bonus scenes and both of apblu titles

overall it\'s a good ending, really utilizes the office setting and the mafia plot to the fullest, i also liked that little italy flag in aya bikini as in colonization play against her clan. it was overall more lighthearted than the other two endings in the aya edition to the funny and ridiculous situations harry is being put in for aya, Luca and our sexual gratification. the scenes were really hot in terms of art, audio and the writing. it was one of the better endings in apblu, I\'ll give it a 9/10 because the first aya edition ending is still the best. one thing that weirds me out is how i expected sarah to be involved in the story and scenes, especially this update but she never did... i was sure it was her when a babysitter was mentioned. btw i also thought the babysitter was Sandra when her face was shown (even though she was described as young) until her name was revealed

Played all the way to ending 1 Harry perspective only so this review is based on that alone along with what I read from Laura\'s game. This is a high quality NTR game that playfully contrast from the first game to add some tongue and cheek humor. That being in its evolution of Harry\'s character and the motivations of Laura and Aya. As though I haven\'t read Aya\'s perspective enough clues are given to confirm that Aya was betting with Luca that Harry wouldn\'t change as a character, and would continue to be a meddling bleeding heart idiot...while Laura desired found Harry\'s personality cute but disingenuous and annoying. These dynamics are the central focus of both the overarching corruption narrative as well as ending one, with Harry ultimately failing to save either Laura and Misumi due to change in personality and willingness to sacrifice Laura for Misumi. All of which adds a delicious Shakespearian irony to Harry\'s situation that his willingness to prioritize Aya/Misumi above everyone else ultimately lead him to lose everything. On a final point Aya and Misumi\'s character was skillfully managed by Hself to allow for a well crafted and organic NTR corruption without breaking her character...so for that Hself gets my highest praise for making her work so well! The CG in this game are of a far higher quality than in the Laura version for obvious reasons. Though I feel the need to say which giving Aya a unbelievably thick body and massive melons is undeniably hot I found it unfortunate due to Aya being in lore as only having a nice ass and moderately sized breast. Granted there are larger breasted females in Laura\'s game...but in Aya\'s game so far her breast are bigger or just big as any other heroines in CG art. This is an issue of consistency and not everyone cares obviously. Next, I\'m glad that in this ending you managed to bring Laura back and use her so effectively...and really hope she returns at least in a Laura remastered as she really is a great character :cuckodiletears: Boo hoo hoo indeed. Last point, nice job with this game so far and a great ending! I can\'t wait to read the rest and will continue with the Harry only perspective as you\'re one of the few NTR writers that is actually entertaining from this perspective.

I really liked Aya’s jealous emotions in this update, as well as the way she and Luca interacted and talked like a real couple. Those descriptions excited me even more than the H-scenes. I hope future updates will continue to include more of that kind of writing. The only small downside is that during Harry’s POV, I couldn’t understand what Aya was thinking, and Aya’s POV this time felt a bit rushed. But even so, I’m still giving this update the highest rating. This is my first time leaving a comment for the creator. I started following you because of Aya, and I really love this game. I just wanted to let you know that your NTR game is rated extremely highly in my heart.

This was a pretty solid update! I had a few minor cosmetic issues but the update itself was pretty good. I look forward to seeing the ending. As Hself said, this update has a lot of CGs. Enjoy it! :hornyself:

There is an old saying in China that goes, \"A woman adorns herself for the one who she loves.\" As the ntr become to the end, her clothing and makeup gradually change. Thus, the person she is trying to please through her elaborate grooming also gradually changes. I hope to see more beautiful changes in the styles and colors of her outfits (to Luca\'s liking).

Worst game of HSelf\'s games. Two stars only for Sandra, otherwise ZERO. This one I should HEAVILY suggest people new to the NTR genre to save this for last. This would definitely scare off and gatekeep NTR from the majority of people.

Review for 0.8.6: This was a pretty great update :hornyself: . I more or less liked all the CGs and Scenes associated with the update. They were some of the best so far for Aya imo. Harry is still an idiot, but that’s nothing new. In fact, him being an idiot actually helps make the NTR stronger, with consequence of making you care for him (and his future) a little less. I feel like there’s a lot to like for both All perspectives and Harry Only in this update. Her expressions in Harry only towards the end when she’s on the bed were amazing, but her expressions throughout the update were good as well. I played through this version twice to make sure my thoughts were accurate. I will be vague but the FaceTime scene and everything that comes after it, for both perspectives, is the definitive highlight for the update and why I feel comfortable giving it a 9/10 :hornyself: . I feel that people who like Aya a good amount will be very satisfied with this update, as I only want the best for my favorite! The writing also helps enhance the CGs and Scenes, as expected. As another person pointed out, there is a noticeable graphical thing with one of her CGs but it’s not ‘immersion breaking’ but noticeable :FuckOff: . It\'ll make sense why it\'s like that, however :weeeeell: . I am personally curious how the following update will end up and if it can maintain this level of enjoyment, but this one gets my approval. I would go as far as to say it\'s better than the previous update in terms of my personal opinion. TLDR: This is a great update for fans of Aya, 9/10

Review time @hself. || Great update. Really strong start to this branching path, a much stronger start than the previous first half of the Laura Ending. A big part of that was having Aya’s POV of events. I think that helped this feel like a much more natural continuation of events compared to the stuff with Laura (as much as I love Laura). I liked the direction her corruption took in this path, Harry spilling the beans and adding a little bit of fuel to her resistance tank this late in the game is interesting. And not being able to be “free” because of it. I’m excited to see her fall for real as Aya and not Misumi. I am very curious to see what the next branch is gonna be. I am expecting one of the endings to be a sort of a pregnant/family oblivious ending given how much emphasis there was on her getting pregnant and continuing her relationship with Luca permanently. The entire update felt like a false light at the end of the tunnel, and I liked it a lot. The necklace was a nice touch. Hopefully it gets defiled :hornyself:. The biggest issue I had with the story of the update was the whole thing with Sara and the instruction game. At this stage in the game and corruption I would like if the heroine had more agency. While I did enjoy her rationalising things in her head like staying with Luca because it was a “bad deal” and I do get the reason why Luca is able to keep her playing, I just would have liked more from Aya herself. Hopefully next update. || || The sex scenes were both great. The final one was pretty good for a cuck sex scene. I appreciated that it seemed like the artist at least tried to not make her boobs super big. The long scene in Luca’s room was probably my favorite penetration scene we’ve gotten so far. I’m a big fan of the angle we got for the thighjob. The riding cg is my favorite sex cg so far. Her left boob was floating weirdly when Luca wasn’t pinching it though. That was very odd. But other than that it was great. The sfx used in this scene wasn’t my favorite but it didn’t detract that much. I liked the deep penetration sfx used in the mating press one though. As for the cg, it kinda has the same problem as the last one (reverse blowjob+mating press/missionary) except it’s opposite. In that one Luca being a floating dick with a bit of a colored blob was kinda distracting and in this one Luca took up a lot of the screen when he was fucking her. Just my 2 cents but in the future whenever you do a similar position you could have the bulls thighs and butt be transparent (like Luca’s arm while making Lasagna) or just do a full mating press with a cut-out of the heroines facial expressions (kinda like the ass grab cg from Luca’s home visit). Also, I could tell that there was an attempt as ass jiggling by the animator but I think that’s something the artist has to contribute to as well because it did not really land. Harry’s side of that cg was really good too. Hearing the moans through the walls every time the call dropped was amazing. Also appreciate the update end screen. Nice touch.|| Overall 8.5 Hangovers. Aya Edition, over all i liked this story and for me Aya is best girl never though i would be drawn to her type but learn something new every day, your a good writer you under stand the human mind very well, but i will say you got some dark shit brewing in that head of yours i would say that the darkest you gone the ones that made me be like fk me i need a drink lvl was fallen hero and the first ending for Aya in her game, i dont blame you for it because human beings are both beautiful and ugly and despite the face plant my mind took with these endings at first i understand why it happened and the disgust only proves how good you did it which is also a complement to you not many ntr really touch on the one aspect of the corruption that you do on these two routs and that is the utter disgust that the corrupted have for the cucked protag like down right they could care less anymore about their wellbeing to the point of death i wont lie that aspect was never my fav when it comes to ntr and i dont often see that happen in ntr mostly just broken man lost something good forced to move on with their pain because even then their lost lover doesn\'t hate them they just found some one else to give them the debauchery they craved but your to endings didn\'t just do that you went for the jugular that was the most brutal shit iv ever read and iv red revenge manga quite a bit which is why i cant fully dislike your endings of fallen hero and Aya first end route because you did it right Harry lost faith in who he was and Aya didn\'t have the strength to hold onto hope cause of Harry\'s doubt in himself and of course the devil that is Luca and with that over all its been a Ride and im waiting to continue as i keep reading over and over to understand the depth of these characters.
